Japan take on Norway at the start of the Round of 16 of the 2023 Women’s World Cup in Wellington, New Zealand. Japan reached the last eight of the World Cup quarter-finals after defeating Norway with a goal from Hinata Miyazawa.

Japan beat Norway 3-1 to book their place in the quarter-finals of the 2023 Women’s World Cup.

Japan’s Ingrid Syrstad Engen scored in the 15th minute to take a 1-0 lead against Norway.

Norway’s Guro Reiten scored in the 20th minute to equalize against Japan at 1-1.

Japan’s Risa Shimizu scored in the 50th minute to take a 1-2 lead against Norway.

Japan’s Hinata Miyazawa scored in the 81st minute to secure a 1-3 win against Norway.

Japan defeated Norway 3–1 to advance to the quarter-finals and Norway was eliminated from the World Cup.

Women’s World Cup Golden Boot: Hinata Miyazawa returned to the top of the standings with five goals in four games.

Japan will now face (Sweden/USA) in the Women’s World Cup quarter-finals.
