Sweden and South Africa qualified for the knockouts in the Women’s World Cup. Rubenson scored from the penalty spot to ensure Sweden’s victory. Sweden beat Argentina 2–0.

Sweden beat Argentina 2-0 to make it three wins out of three at the Women’s World Cup.

Sweden topped Group G and will face off against the USA in the last 16.

Argentina were eliminated from the tournament after finishing bottom of the group with one point.

South Africa joined Sweden in the last 16 after securing a 3–2 win against Italy.

Sweden’s Ki Blomqvist took a 1-0 lead against Argentina with a superb goal in the 66th minute.

Sweden’s Lynn Rubenson scored a penalty kick in the 90th minute to give Argentina a 2–0 lead.

Florencia Bonsegundo was carried off the field after suffering a serious concussion.

Blomqvist said “We had to be patient and Argentina defended well and closed up a lot of space. At halftime we felt if we kept doing what we were doing we would break them down, and more space at the end”. Will open, we will not be able to move forward.
