Jennifer Lawrence’s Bold Move: Why She Asked Robert De Niro to Leave Her Wedding Dinner
Actress Jennifer Lawrence revealed in a recent interview that she politely asked Hollywood star Robert De Niro to leave her wedding rehearsal dinner in 2019, as she felt it wasn’t his kind of event. The 33-year-old actress spoke about the stress of being a bride and observed De Niro, who seemed out of place, wandering around.
“I looked over and I saw Bob, who doesn’t know anybody and he’s kind of wandering around, and I immediately was like, ‘No, this isn’t what he wants to be doing. I don’t want him here’,” she explained to eonline.com. “So I went over and whispered, I was like, ‘Go home’.”
Despite De Niro being polite and engaging with her parents, Lawrence sensed he wasn’t enjoying himself. “He was nice—he talked to my parents and was polite—but I was like, ‘Go’,” she said. “That just genuinely made me feel better.”
Jennifer Lawrence and Robert De Niro had previously worked together in David O. Russell-directed films such as Silver Linings Playbook and Joy.
