Coco Gauff beats Andreeva into US Open 2023 third round – as it happened  

Coco Gauff recorded a stunning 6-3, 6-2 win over Mira Andreeva of Russia on Wednesday in a battle of teenage talents.

American sixth seed Coco Gauff defeated Andreeva to reach the third round of the US Open.

Gauff's final Grand Slams of the year included hardcourt titles in Washington and Cincinnati.

Gauff converted four of her five break point opportunities and dropped her serve just once during the 76-minute match at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Gauff, 19, said she took a more aggressive approach in their second meeting with Andreeva at this year's French Open.

Gauff said, "If you give her something she will take advantage and today I think I did well to put her on the backfoot."
