Film Financier TSG Accuses Disney of Depriving It Of ‘Millions of Dollars’

TSG Entertainment has invested more than $3 billion in 140 Fox films, including "Avatar: The Way of Water" and "The Shape of Water."

A lawsuit on Tuesday accused Disney of using Hollywood accounting tricks to defraud hundreds of people.

The Slate financier alleged that Disney was engaged in "self-dealing" by moving Fox films from the lucrative HBO license to its own Disney+ and Hulu platforms.

The lawsuit alleged that Fox was involved in "sweetheart" deals when it licensed its films to the FX cable channel.

TSG alleges "Disney sought to inflate its stock value and the pay packages of CEOs Bob Iger and Bob Chapek" at TSG's expense.

These allegations stem from Scarlett Johansson's filing of her lawsuit against Disney over the 2021 release of "Black Widow".

Johansson settled her case out of court, alleging that Disney simultaneously released the film in theaters and on Disney+

to produce the platform while it was denied the benefit of an exclusive theatrical release.
