Gen V Season 1 Finale Sets the Stage for "The Boys" Season 4 with Key Character Moments

This article contains spoilers for the Season 1 finale of "Gen V," titled "Guardians of Godolkin," which is now available for streaming on Amazon's Prime Video.

While "The Boys" Season 4 doesn't have a confirmed premiere date it has already started in a way for viewers of "Gen V."

The Season 1 finale of "Gen V," a spin-off of "The Boys," featured key scenes with Homelander (Antony Starr) and Butcher (Karl Urban) that set up the storyline for "Gen V" Season 2.

According to "The Boys" showrunner Eric Kripke and "Gen V" co-showrunner Michele Fazekas, the Season 1 finale of "Gen V" also connects with what will happen in the upcoming season of "The Boys."

In the episode, there's a brief mid-credits scene featuring Butcher, who explores the now-abandoned The Woods facility.

He is aware of the supe virus, which was commissioned by the deceased Dean Shetty and is now in the possession of Vice Presidential candidate Victoria Neuman.

Homelander plays a pivotal role in a bloody battle at Godolkin University. He arrives to save the day for Vought and accuses Marie of being an "animal" for attacking other supes.

However, he doesn't realize that Marie was following Vought exec Ashley Barrett's orders and protecting regular humans and other supes from escapees from The Woods.
