Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade 2023: Stars, Spectacle and Celebrations in New York City


The annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is set to kick off the holiday season in New York City.

The parade begins on Manhattan's upper west side traverses alongside Central Park and concludes in front of Macy's flagship store on 34th Street.

It attracts large crowds and a national television audience.

Several notable artists and groups are scheduled to perform during the parade including Cher, who recently released her first Christmas album.


Cher holds a prime spot in the lineup performing just before Santa Claus's appearance, signifying the parade's conclusion.

Other performers include Jon Batiste, Bell Biv DeVoe, Brandy, Jessie James Decker, Pentatonix and Miss America 2023 Grace Stanke. Broadway show casts will also take part in performances.

The parade introduces new balloons this year including Leo the lizard from a Netflix film, towering over 40 feet.

Additionally, familiar balloons like SpongeBob, standing at 44 feet, will return.

Snoopy a long-standing character in the parade will feature as a new Beagle Scout Snoopy balloon, commemorating the 50th anniversary of his debut in the Peanuts comics.
