The lottery has said that if the prize is won, the jackpot could be the fourth largest in Mega Millions history.

Mega Millions said the prize winner could choose to make annual payments over 29 years or a lump sum of an estimated $550.2 million.

The jackpot exceeded $1 billion after none of the tickets matched all six numbers drawn on Friday night.

Tuesday's drawing will be the 30th according to Mega Millions since the last time the jackpot was won was April 18 in New York.
