Simona Halep banned for four years for Anti-doping violation

The International Tennis Integrity Agency said on Tuesday it has suspended Simona Halep for four years for doping violations.

Simona Halep failed a drug test during the 2022 US Open, the ITIA said.

and knowingly committed an anti-doping rule violation for irregularities in his athlete biological passport.

Halep, who plans to appeal the decision, was temporarily suspended from October 2022.

Simona Halep's four-year ban will run until October 6, 2026. She will stay away from professional tennis.

Halep, who blamed contaminated nutritional supplements, plans to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
