Solo comeback Megan Thee Stallion releases new single “Cobra”

On November 3, Megan Thee Stallion made her solo comeback to the music scene with a new single titled "Cobra."

This is her first standalone non-soundtrack single since the incident involving Tory Lanez in July 2020.

The song and its music video feature serpentine imagery with Megan literally "shedding" her skin in the video directed by Douglas Bernardt.

In the track, Megan raps over a beat with rock guitars, touching on her emotional struggles.

She mentions battling depression, drinking and suicidal thoughts with lyrics like, "At night, I’m sittin’ in a dark room thinkin’ / Probably why I always end up drinkin’" and "Sh–, I’d probably bleed out some Pinot / When they find me, I’m in Valentino."

Fans have praised Megan for her vulnerability and honesty in the song's lyrics.

They appreciate her courage in addressing such personal and emotional subjects through her art.

Some fans note that "Cobra" is not the first time Megan has delved into vulnerable themes in her music.
